What is the Canine Good Citizen's Test?

The AKC website describes the CGC program in the following way:

"The CGC s agram certification pro that is designed to reward dogs
who have good manners at home and in the community. The CGC
Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet
ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs
who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the
American Kennel Club."

Great Dog! is registered with the AKC to administer the CGC test.
Clients and individuals interested in taking the test can inquire
directly for test dates and register to participate in group classes
designed to prepare owners and their dogs to take the test.

CANINE GOOD CITIZENS GROUP CLASSES

This is a series of six group classes that are held periodiocally throughout the year (call or e-mail for scheduling) in preparation for taking the test itself on the seventh week. Class size is limited to five dogs and their owners and are held at the great new Ocean Dog Club facility in Pawtucket, RI where we'll be able to work both inside and outside (weather permitting) 100% of all test fees are donated to the Warwick Animal Shelter in Warwick, RI.
