Something You Should
Know...
The Warwick Animal Shelter
is one of the few shelters in the state of Rhode Island that evaluates
dogs for
temperment. While no temperment test constitutes a guarantee of good
behavior; this step does provide the shelter with a measure of insight
it would otherwise be without. Putting the emphasis on temperment
without bias for breed helps make for better matches.
The staff and volunteers at the Warwick
Shelter are a particularly dedicated and compassionate group who interact
with the dogs on a meaningful level. Walking and playing with the
dogs, bathing and grooming, all give added insight into how they respond
to people, other dogs and with the glass front cat room, felines too.
It also makes the shelter experience less traumatic, more like what
we all hope will be their lives in their new homes.
